The National Interagency Fire Center, a group dedicated to coordinating wildland firefighting resources in the United States, has said there is a high fire potential throughout a significant portion of the state (including Southern California) that is “above normal.” This could lead to fire damage in the Southern California area throughout the summer and beyond. According to their maps, this is particularly true in June, July and August.
